The Afflicted are a race of putrid monstrosities from Tyria.
Basic Information[]
The afflicted are made up of a mix of living creatures such as plants, animals and humans. They received this curse from the malevolent spirit of Shiro. Those left unharmed refer to this “disease” as the Affliction and fear that, if left unchecked, it could become an epidemic. The Affliction, the name of this curse is not in the certain way stated above. Instead considering the other more obvious dangers the creatures present, steering clear of the Afflicted is wise in most any case.
Anyone or anything can become and afflicted which makes this plague the most terrifying aspect than any normal or standard disease. The resulting mutations are unpredictable monstrosities with all of the combat strengths the original person or creature possessed, but altered and augmented in terrifying ways by the Affliction.
Once someone or something becomes an afflicted, no cure exists for it. Killing the Afflicted is the only way to give the tortured soul peace; hesitation or pity will only result in death.
