Sand gnomes live under the shifting sands and deserts with a tribal culture. Many scholars doubted they existed; but a small number of sand gnomes live in the Bone Wastes of Warcraft universe's planet Outland. It is presumed; however, never confirmed that they originate from the desert of Silithus. In recent years it is discovered they live in the vast desert of Uldum. How they came to the Outland is unknown. Beating certain drums can summon the sand gnomes from under the surface. dwarven explorers believe they were mirages. However, this was proven false as they can cause physical harm and injury also leaving corpses and loot.
